Menu: Analyze / Planes
Batch detection of planes is possible with this tool. Planes will be detected if they respect three parameters:
Detection tolerance: Maximum distance between point and plane for the detection
Minimum area: Minimum area of the detected plane
Minimum points: Minimum number of points needed to define a plane
“Pick” lets the user to select the starting point by picking a point in the point cloud. The function can be restricted to a defined radius around the starting point by using the “Limit by radius” option. If this option isn’t checked, it’s highly recommended to make a fence around the area to be processed to minimize the time required for the detection. “Start” will launch the function and any planes detected will appear in the explorer under the “Objects” tab in the planes drop-down type.
