Menu: Analyze / Compute normals
After clicking on “Compute normals”, the algorithm will automatically begin to calculate the normal of every point in the point cloud. Afterward, when viewing points by normals (Menu: View / Color by normals), points belonging to horizontal planes will appear in one color (red by default) green and points on a vertical plane will appear in another color ( blue by default). All other points will appear in white. This can offer another way to view and analyze the model. It is an optional process; other algorithms won’t use this computed valueshelp you view better the intersection of plane allowing you to see better the edges while doing virtual surveying for exemple.
