Menu: File / Registration
Point cloud registration is necessary when a point cloud must be correctly positioned in space (georeferenced) or to stich stitch multiple scans togetherstogether. Many options for point cloud registration are available with VisionLidar and are explained in this section.
Different methods are available:
- Point-to-point registration: Allows to reposition a given point cloud to match a reference point cloud by picking corresponding points one by one
- Registration using a list: Allows to register a point cloud using a list of control points
- Translation/rotation of the project: Allows to move the origin of the point cloud
- Reindexing the point cloud: Used to reindex the point cloud project. This option allows to rearrange tiles after having made a change like repositioning or classification.
