This tool is available with VisionLidar Premium and Ultimate versions only.


This function allows the user to detect similar objects in a point cloud. More then just detecting clustersFurthermore, it tries to find the best shape shapes of it and compare them to a reference point cloud or mesh. The result is a list of detected object showing objects displaying their percentage of compatibility.



The detection is done in multiple steps:

  • First step is to specify the model. A file can either be loaded uploaded or the model can be selected on screen.

Loadable models are either in  Osg, Osgb, Pcd, Obj or Ply file format. 

As for the option "From screen", a fence around the object must first be done to isolate it.

  • Afterward the object can be displayed or edited "Show/Edit" ed to ensure it correspond corresponds to the user's need.
  • Last Finally "Detect similar" will lunch will launch the detection with the specified parameters, filling the table below with each new detected object and reorder rearranging them by percentage of correspondence.

Like clusters, the detected object detected can be drawdrawn, which will draw all the points from the detected object. It 's is also possible to draw the points of the model that served used for the detection of the object, allowing making it possible to see the difference between both objects.
