Calculating volumes, creating contours, and creating profiles are all tasks that are performed on surfaces, which must be loaded in memory. Multiple surfaces may be loaded at once. On the other hand, if you are working with a large volume of points, you can optimize performance by closing unnecessary surfaces.

The general surface interface makes it possible to view all the surfaces saved in the Vision database as well as how many points, breaklines, and triangles they contain. In this interface, it is possible to quickly add, delete, copy, move to the solids section, and merge surfaces quickly by first initially selecting them from the table and then choosing the function.

The Update drawing” button is used to update update one or several surfaces drawn in the VisionLidar main window, if modifications were made without redrawing itsurfaces.

Note: This function does not update the points, outlines, or breaklines, only only the drawn triangulation.

The Erase button is used to erase all elements from the main window.

The  button  “Merge selected surfaces” button is used to merge two surfaces together. When merging, there are three options:

  • Include all points from each surface.

  • Give one surface priority and incorporate the points from the second surface that are outside the first one's outline.

  • View cross-sections along an alignment and choose views on the surface given priority.

It’s It is also possible to fuse merge surfaces as layers of another layersurface. For this option to work, all XY points needs need to have their concordance in each surface.

The "Determine and show elevations" section is used to apply the elevation of COGO points or points picked in CAD to different surfaces. Simply select the desired surface from the table, then select the points either on the screen or by point groups. It will generate an elevation report that can be saved as a text file.
