The registration with a point list is much like the point to point method. First of all,  In this case the user must first select a scan file in the project to be moved from the "'to move' file" drop-down list. However, instead of selecting a reference point cloud file, an ASCII file with the point coordinates in ID X Y Z format must be loaded. The point list file must present the data in columns separated with spaces. To load the list, click on “Load point list”.


After loading the ASCII file, the table with coordinates will be filled (X Y Z values) and the user must pick a corresponding point for each point in the point list. Therefore, it’s it is important for the user to know the position of the points in the point list before picking the corresponding points in the point cloud. Note that the option "Pick by 4 points" allows to pick point from a cross-like picking. The point generated will be on the center of the cross created by the four points picked. Validate” will show the difference between the theoretical point and the one picked and processed. Once results are satisfying, the user must click on “Applyto apply the transformation and “Reindex and reopen” will complete the registration process. The “Report” button will save the results of the transformation in .TXT format ; giving a report of the control points and of all points picked as well as the standard deviation and transformation values applied.
