Menu: Civil / Start

The Civil module in VisionLidar provides advanced tools for surface, profile, and section management while optimizing system performance by avoiding unnecessary point cloud processing.

1. Key Features of the Civil Module

✔ Define & Manage Surfaces – Generate and edit terrain surfaces without overloading the point cloud.
✔ Extract & Analyze Sections & Profiles – Create cross-sections and longitudinal profiles along alignments.
✔ Alignment Management – Define and modify horizontal and vertical alignments.
✔ Lidar Extraction – Process mobile and aerial LiDAR data efficiently.

💡 The Civil module processes and stores data within the Vision database, ensuring a structured and optimized workflow.

2. Efficient Data Management

✔ The Civil module avoids overloading the computer by processing only the necessary data.
✔ The processed data is saved in the Vision database, which is linked to the current project.
✔ Users can view the file name of the active database at the top-left corner of the Civil module window.

3. Workflow Overview

📌 Step 1: Start the Civil Module

  • Open Menu: Civil / Start to launch the Civil interface.

  • Ensure that the Vision database is properly linked to your project.

📌 Step 2: Select Data for Processing

  • Choose point cloud data or import surfaces/alignments from the Explorer.

📌 Step 3: Perform Advanced Analysis

  • Define terrain surfaces, contour lines, sections, profiles, and alignments.

  • Extract mobile or aerial LiDAR data efficiently.

📌 Step 4: Export & Share Data

  • Save and export data to DXF, CSV, SHP, LandXML, and other formats.
