Project in Batch

Menu: Tools / Project in Batch


In this menu, you will have to select all the scans you want to create projects for. To do so you will have to place all of them in the same folder which you will select by clicking  next to "Source directory" field. Then you have to select where you wants them to be created by clicking  next to "Destination directory" field.

Next, you have to select the formats of scans you want the batch creation processes by checking the  next to it. Then you have the rest of the parameters that you can set:

  • Upload images: Select the folder if you have spherical images going with the projects
  • Keep temporary files: Choose if you want to keep the temporary files after the process is complete or to delete them automatically
  • Overwrite files:
  • Calculate Normal: Check it if you want the "Normals" to be calculated as the same time as the projects are created
  • 3D file: indicates that the source files are in 3D format. The only reason this option should be unchecked is in case you are importing aerial lidar data and you want the tiling to be done only on X and Y planes.
  • Includes subfolder: Include the subfolder to look for other source files (scans).
  • Merge scans: Merges the scans together tohave them all in 1 file
  • Tile size: Select the size for tile creation
  • Max. point in tile: Select the maximum number of point per tile.THis affect "LoD" (level of detail) creation
  • Expand BB (bounding box):
  • CSV format: Choose the way to put the value in your CSV file
  • Conversion Projection: sets the project's coordinate system If a conversion is asked all the coordinates from the "Source" file will be re-projected into the "Destination" coordinate system which will be the project's one. 
  • Source: Select the unit of measure (Foot, US foot or metric)
  • Save: Save the project
  • Execute: Launch the "Batch project creation" process
  • Quit: Close the "Batch project creation" window
