Menu:  Analyze / Cylinders

Batch detection of cylinders is possible with this tool. Cylinders will be detected if they respect four parameters:

  • Tolerance: Maximum distance between point and cylinder

  • Minimum cylinder radius : Determine the minimum radius to be used to detect a cylinder. Any cylinder with a smaller radius will be ignored

  • Maximum cylinder radius : Determine the maximum radius to be used to detect a cylinder. Any cylinder with a bigger radius will be ignored

  • Minimum points: Minimum number of points needed to define a cylinder

Pick” allows the user to select the starting point by picking a point in the point cloud. The function can be restricted to a defined radius around the starting point by using the “Limit by radius” option. If this option isn’t checked, it’s highly recommended to create a fence around the area to be processed to minimize the time required for the detection. “Start” will launch the function and any cylinders detected will appear in the explorer under the “Objects” tab in the cylinders drop-down type.
