Menu: Analyze / Catenary Detection

The Catenary Detection tool is designed to automatically and semi-automatically detect and vectorize:
Power lines and poles
Spans between two poles
Vegetation interference with power lines (clash detection)
Clearance distance reports (distance to the ground)

1. Key Functionalities

Automatic & Semi-Automatic Detection

  • Detects and vectorizes overhead power lines and poles from the point cloud.

  • Identifies spans between two poles, helping with infrastructure analysis.

Clash Detection (Vegetation Interference)

  • Analyzes vegetation encroachment into power lines.

  • Helps assess clearance violations that may pose safety hazards.

Clearance Distance Reports

  • Measures the distance between power lines and the ground.

  • Generates detailed reports to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

2. Generating Reports

A .PDF report can be created, containing:
Vectorized power lines and poles
Clash detection results (vegetation interference)
Clearance distance measurements

This helps in powerline inspection, vegetation management, and infrastructure planning.

The Catenary Detection module consists of four main tabs: Poles, Lines, Spans, and Line Clearance. These tools allow you to detect, vectorize, and analyze catenary power lines and their surrounding environment efficiently.
