After selecting points
withusing one of the selection tools,
it is possible toyou can create a surface for use in the VisionCivil module
with the "Export to Civil” optionby selecting “Export to Civil”. A name must be
specified forassigned to the
creatednew surface before proceeding.
A simplification ofSurface Simplification Options
When exporting the surface
can also be executed with a grid size, you can apply simplification using the Grid Size setting. If
the simplification is checkedenabled, a confirmation window will
confirm how many points todisplay the number of points that will be added to the surface.
The option “Use lowest points” will retain only the ground points for the surface, whereas the “Use highest points” option will retain higher points for a given area: this can be useful for the creation of a digital surface model (DSM).The surface created will not be triangulated - it will only contain inserted points. Refer to the Civil module sections for drawing surfaces and surface management for more information.
Point Filtering Options:
Use Lowest Points – Retains only ground-level points, useful for creating terrain models.
Use Highest Points – Retains only upper points within a given area, ideal for Digital Surface Models (DSM) (e.g., building rooftops, vegetation canopies).
Important Notes
The exported surface will not be triangulated—it will only contain the selected points.
For further surface drawingand management, refer to the Civil Module documentation.
