Edit: Editing, Extracting and Selecting Points

This section covers the concepts of segmenting, selecting, and filtering the point cloud. VisionLidar offers multiple tools to manipulate point cloud data efficiently.

 

Selection and Segmentation Tools

  • Select – Manually select specific points in the point cloud.

  • Select All – Selects all visible points in the point cloud and opens the Selection window.

    • If any points were hidden, they will be revealed and selected.

  • Advanced Selection – Opens the Advanced Selection window, providing additional selection tools.

  • Fence – Creates 2D selection fences to isolate specific regions.

  • Clipping Box – Creates 3D selection fences, allowing you to segment volumetric areas.

  • Eraser – Opens the Eraser window, enabling you to:

    • Temporarily hide selected points without deleting them.

    • Access points beneath the hidden layer.

    • Restore hidden points when needed.

  • Classifier – Opens the Classifier window, allowing you to quickly classify points using a cube or sphere as a selection tool.

  • Subsampling– Opens the Subsampling window to reduce the number of points in your project, optimizing performance.

  • Refresh – Refreshes the point cloud display to update changes.

  • Annotations – Opens the Annotations window, allowing you to add notes and markers to the point cloud.
