Menu: Edit / Simplify
The Simplify tool reduces the number of points in the point cloud, creating a lighter, optimized version of the project. This is useful for improving performance while maintaining essential data.
How the Simplification Process Works
The tool retains only one point per cube of a specified Grid Size.
Smaller Grid Size → Retains more points, preserving details.
Larger Grid Size → Retains fewer points, reducing file size and processing load.
How to Use the Simplify Tool
Set the Grid Size – Define the level of simplification.
Choose a Project Name – Assign a name to the new simplified project.
Select the Project Location – Click the browse button to choose where to save the project.
Click “Start” to begin the simplification process.
Once completed, a new project will be created in the selected location.
