If a template was created and saved beforehand (as a .gab file), it may be loaded at this step. To begin a new template, however, points must be picked in the secondary window. The secondary view is opened by clicking on the “Edit” button next to a section and the “Pick points” option must be activated. Clicking on LiDAR points in the secondary view will populate the template point list. If the “Sort by offset” option is activated, all points will automatically be sorted by their offset value from the alignment. Closed templates are not permitted while using this option. If “Sort by offset” is not activated, the picking order will be very important to respect; points can’t be moved easily in a template. Once the template is satisfying, the PCode value for every point must be specified in the template. The PCode can be selected from the drop-down list or entered in the text field followed by the “Enter” key. The template can then be saved as a .gab file for later use.
