Menu: Explorer / Objects / Objects

Inserted objects are objects imported in VisionLidar from an external file. These files can be either .osg, .osgb, .obj or .ply files.

Objects are inserted using the  button and picking an insertion point. Afterward, the object can be scaled, moved or rotated around axis using the appropriate button.

Scale object need a scaling ratio, the left arrow will divide the size by the ratio while the right arrow will multiply it.

The move option will move on the axis of the projects coordinates, using positive and negative values to go on one side or the other.

The rotation will also be done on the project's axis.

The user can get the Mesh info of the object and create the mesh with more or less density if needed with the respective buttons.

Clicking on the  button will restart the detection for a specific object and a tree trunk must be picked in the point cloud. The function will automatically detect measurements for that tree. Each measurement for any given tree may be changed manually by picking points in the point cloud with the "..." button and picking the desired point in the point cloud. (Note: For DBH and crown diameter measurements - 2 points must be picked.) The shape of the tree can either be set as spherical or conical; this is how it will be displayed in the point cloud and in the exported .DXF file.

A few options are available in the trees toolbar - see their description here:

  • Zoom to current to center the view on the object
  • Remove current to delete the currently selected tree
