Cartographic consultation

At the opening of VisionLidar365, the map consultation interface allows us to navigate the territory using standard zoom and move tools. The basic available cartography is the Quebec road network coming from "Open Street Map".

Map layers

A list of map layers is available to select the necessary information for the user. For example one can make appear the tracks of the Lidar and photogrammetric surveys, the panels or the electric poles.

Map layers can come directly from a data warehouse populated by VisionLidar Pro, or from a third-party data source. For example, layers of information according to geomatics standards (WMTS, WMS, WFS).

Research

Two research tools are available in VisionLidar365.

The quick search tool "Open Street Map" allows us to locate on the map directly, with an address, a city name or information known in their database.

The advanced search tool allows the user to locate themselves on the map by specifying one or more search criteria. Some non-exhaustive examples are Date or Date Range, Location, Address Range, RTSS, Service Center.

When localizing using the advanced search tool, the software positions us in a strategic location, showing the elements corresponding to the search in the map, but also in a list of elements.

By selecting an item in the list, it becomes highlighted in the interactive map, and vice versa.

Metadata

By selecting an element directly in the map, the information of this object is available as a table. For example, the user can easily access the lidar metadata, or measurement information from the /wiki/spaces/VisionLidarFR2019/pages/381977482 detected road sign.

The metadata varies depending on the nature of the object: Lidar data, spherical photos, geographic feature from virtual surveying, or another source. They are fully customizable for each role associated with a user.

In this table listing information about an object, a hyperlink allows the user to go to lidar points and spherical photos associated with it, with the opening of a second tab of the web browser.

Note that geographic object positions are available in Longitudes / Latitudes, UTM, MTM, and RTSS.

Information sharing

Data sources are shared among an infinite number of users. In order to facilitate data management between consulting users (VisionLidar365) and users with access to source data (/wiki/spaces/VisionLidarFR2019/pages/381977482), uan effective communication tool is available. This tool is accessible from the map or the point cloud.

If, for example, a user notices a problem in the detection of signs, he can use a button to transmit a URL to his colleague. This URL will contain the angle and position of the view, the type of data displayed, the display settings and the zoom. The user may also attach a note indicating the anomaly of which he became aware.
