Planes are generated either in batch with the plane batch detection tool (see Menu: Analyze / Planes) or individually with the button. The latter option offers 4 different methods: “By three points” generates a plane passing by the 3 picked points, “By two points” creates a vertical plane passing by the 2 picked points, "Horizontal" creates an horizontal plane by picking 1 point and “Detect from point” detects the mean plane around the picked point. A few options are available in the planes toolbar, see their description here:

Highlighted in the list, the plan clicked on the screen
Filters the list to show only horizontal, vertical, or specifically named planes
Exports the selected planes
A contextual menu also presents a few extra features. This is possible by right-clicking on a specific plane. Using the contextual menu the user may:
Check all/uncheck all to select/deselect all planes
Merge planes to merge selected planes together following the tolerance defined in thesettings.
Regularize outline will calculate and display the regularized outline of selected planes
Draw outline will highlight the outline of the selected planes
Erase outline will hide the outline of the selected planes
Remove current will delete the current plane
Set as reference plane will set the selected plane as “reference plane”
Select points - this tool allows the user to select points within a given interval from the plane. The interval must be entered in the text field next to the option in the menu. Using this tool will open the “Selection” window and will give the user a few options (see selection tools for more explanations). The user must select points by interval of distance; entering in one value in the field will set the interval to equal distance from the plane (e.g. 0.5 will set the interval at -0.5 : 0.5) and entering two values separated by a colon will set an asymmetrical interval (e.g. -0.2 : 0.4 will set an asymmetrical interval).
