The Reindex tool reorganizes the point cloud structure to improve visualization performance and data consistency. This process is particularly useful after applying translations or rotations to individual files, ensuring smoother navigation and rendering. Additionally, reindexing can correct level-of-detail inconsistencies in certain cases.

When to Use Reindexing

✔ After translating or rotating individual files to enhance display fluidity.
✔ To correct inconsistencies in the level of detail.
✔ Automatically performed after applying a registration or reopening a project when modifications have been made.

Important Notes:

• Reindexing can take significant time, depending on the size and complexity of the point cloud.

• This process ensures optimal performance but does not alter the raw data—only its organization for better visualization.
