Planes are generated either in batch with the plane batch detection tool (see Menu: Analyze / Planes) or individually with the
button. The latter option offers three different methods: “By three points” generates a plane passing by the three picked points, “By two points” creates a vertical plane passing by the two picked points and “Detect from point” detects the mean plane around the picked point. A few options are available in the planes toolbar - see their description here:
