Analyze surface
Menu: Analyze / Analyze surface
You can also use the “Color by surface” tool available in the "Oject tab" of the explorer. Right click on a "surface" and select “Colorize points by distance”.
This tool will colorize surface points according to their distance to the selected surface. An existing surface must be selected from the list and a “Max distance” must be entered. The “Execute” button will find all nearby points, calculate their distance with the surface and colorize them accordingly. A colorized point cloud will appear in a secondary window and the histogram in the “Range of colors” will be calculated.
A .PDF report can be created with this tool. The report will include a title, a subtitle, a histogram and a screenshot of the secondary window. To customize the title and subtitle, click on next to the “Report” button. By clicking on “Report” it will generate a .PDF file showing the histogram of point distribution and a screen capture of the secondary window.
A downsample option has been added to reduce the number of points included in the calculation, effectively decreasing processing time. The downsample value suggests that only 1 point in the specified area will be kept for calculation.
