Modify the origin

Menu: File / Registration / Modify origin

The Modify Origin option allows users to reposition the entire project by applying a translation along the X, Y, and Z axes. This is useful when aligning the dataset to a known coordinate system or shifting it to a different reference point.

How to Use the Modify Origin Tool

1. Enter the translation values for the X, Y, and Z axes.

   • If no value is provided for a plane, it will default to 0 (no movement).

2. Click “Apply” to confirm and apply the transformation.

Important Notes:

• If you need to apply a translation or rotation to a specific file within the project instead of the entire dataset, use the “Scans” tab in the Project Explorer instead.

• This action cannot be undone. To revert changes, you must manually apply the opposite transformation to restore the original positioning.
