Point and chain groups
At the top of both “Pick Points” and “View Point” windows are two grouping options; one for grouping points and the other for grouping chains or linework.
First, to create a point group, press the button next to the “Point group” drop-down list while the field is empty. If the drop-down list contains a group name, the button will modify the current point group instead.
Once in the point group window, the point group must be given a name. Afterwards, the filters that will control which points are in the group must be specified. Point numbers and intervals, PCode numbers, intervals and groups, radius around a point, elevations and dates are all cumulative filters that can be set. The “List Points” tab will show every point included in the group. It is recommended to check this tab before accepting the point group. “OK” will save the group and return to the previous function. If the active function is “Pick Points/Lines”, any new points picked will be added automatically to the group (provided they fit the criteria specified for the definition of the point group).
Once created, all points in the current group will appear in the main window, even for already saved points in the "Pick Points/Lines" function.
To create a chain group, press the button next to the “Chain group” drop-down list while the field is empty. If the drop-down list contains a group name, the button will modify the current chain group instead.
The opened window includes two tables; the right side displays all chains in the database while the left side shows the chains in the current group. The user must select chains on the right by checking each desired chain and by clicking on “Add to group” to fill the left table. Once all desired chains have been added to the group, “OK” will save the group and return to the previous function. If the active function is “Pick Points”, any points picked in existing chains will be added to the groups (provided they fit the criteria specified for the definition of the chain group).
To delete a "Point group" or a "Chain group", simply select it in the corresponding drop box then click on . Please note that deleting a "Point group" or "Chain group" is permanent and cannot be reversed, but will keep the points or chains in VisionLidar database allowing you to recreate "Point group" or "Chain group" from those points or chains.
