Viewing points and lines

Menu: Survey / View Points/Lines

(see video at 5:41)

This function works like the pick points function described previously; with three exceptions:

  • Points cannot be added by picking in the point cloud, only with the “Pick Coordinate XYZ” function in the contextual menu can a point be modified by picking in the point cloud.

  • All points and all linework in the database are visible, compared to the “Pick points” function which only shows points that have not been saved yet.

  • It is possible to export all points in the Vision database in LandXML, .DXF or .CSV format. The points can also be filtered by point groups or chain groups. The points in orange have been modified and the change must be saved for the database to be modified.

  • There is no right part of the window for sequential PCode

A right click on a point in the table will offer the user some extra point management options. For a selection of points, the PCode and the line number may be modified. For the current point, an attribute may be added. Editing a point is possible here. The XYZ values can be modified, notes, PCodes and attributes may be added. The tool “Pick XYZ coordinate” will repick a point in the list if the position of the point is unsatisfactory.

It is possible to select a series of points by clicking on a point (the point will be displayed as yellow to indicate the selected state), pressing "Shift" and clicking the final point to be selected. This way, a selection of points may be, for example, deleted or modified.

The search bar on the top right of the table allows the user to search for any point in the table containing the information entered. Entering the same value multiple times will find the following points that contain the search information (if applicable).

The size of the labels for the points on screen may be modified by going to Menu: Settings / View / Point labels and changing the main screen text size.

Any changes made to the points in this function must be saved. Points in the table can be saved in the database and exported as CSV, DXF or LandXML format. An alignment can also be made with any polyline by clicking on “Create alignment” and saving the desired line number as an alignment. The newly created alignment it will be accessible with the Menu: Survey / Alignment or in the alignment section of the Civil module.
