Menu: Tools / Image to Scan

In this menu, you will generate your 3D point cloud from the images previously selected and configured.

Steps to Generate the Point Cloud

  1. Select the Image Folder

    • Ensure all images are correctly added in the project.

  2. Set the Processing Parameters

    • Adjust settings such as image resolution, point density, and processing quality.

    • You can define georeferencing options if GCPs were used in the previous step.

  3. Click on "Generate Point Cloud"

    • The software will process the images and reconstruct the 3D point cloud.

    • This may take some time depending on the number of images and system performance.

  4. Review and Export the Point Cloud

    • Once the process is complete, the point cloud will be displayed in the main viewer.

    • You can export the generated cloud in different formats (e.g., LAS, LAZ, XYZ, E57).

Georeferencing Considerations

  • If the images already contain GPS metadata, the point cloud will be generated based on their EXIF coordinates.

  • If GCPs (Ground Control Points) were used, the point cloud will be more accurate and aligned with real-world coordinates.

Once completed, the 3D point cloud is ready for further processing in VisionLidar, such as classification, segmentation, and feature extraction.
