Profile view

Menu: Analyze / Profiles

This function shows a cut of the profile along an alignment or between two points picked in the point cloud. Points within the profile sectional view appear in a secondary window and may be picked for virtual surveying or selected to be classified or deleted. The interface of this function is the same as for the section function, other than the width which is unnecessary.

Different settings similar to the cross-view sections are available for this function:

By alignment: A list of alignments available in the database may be selected here with the drop-down menu. The user may add alignments to this list by using the pick points tool or the alignment tool. With this option the user can select a linear alignment which will be used as the departure path for the profile view.
By points: The user must pick two points that will be used as an alignment in order to determine the limit of the profile.
Show: Opens the secondary view which shows the points in the profile sectional view. The bounding box of the profile can be seen in the main window. The profile itself is along the chosen path and will have the thickness and height specified.
Right / Left: Moves the secondary view to the right or the left of the profile view beside the path. The distance between each step is defined by the “Offset” parameter.
Thickness, height: Dimensions of the profile section bounding box.
Offset: Distance between "profiles".
