Line Clearance Detection

Line Clearance Detection

Menu: Analyze / Catenary detection

The Line Clearance tab contains two modules for analyzing power line safety:

  1. Clash Detection : Identifies vegetation interference within a span. It highlights areas where vegetation needs to be trimmed to ensure safe clearances.

  2. Distance to Ground : Analyzes the clearance of power lines relative to the ground, ensuring compliance with local safety regulations. Detected interferences can be visualized in the 3D scene and a detailed report of detected clearance issues can be generated for documentation and compliance purposes.

Detection Parameters

1. Classification Settings

Class – Defines the classification category for detected power lines (e.g., Wire - Guard (Shield)).
Class for Intrusion Zone – Specifies the class assigned to detected intrusion areas (e.g., Class 5 for obstacles).

2. Intrusion Zone Definition

The intrusion zone is the protected space around the power line, within which any object will be flagged as a clash.

Radial – Defines a circular intrusion zone around the power line.
Quadratic – Creates a square-shaped buffer around the power line.
Conical – Uses a cone-shaped intrusion zone, allowing for more dynamic detection.
R (Radius) – Determines the size of the intrusion zone in distance units (e.g., 6.00).

3. Visual Representation

The diagram illustrates how the intrusion zone is applied, based on the selected detection mode.

By utilizing these tools, you can efficiently detect, vectorize, and analyze power lines while ensuring they meet safety standards. 🚀
