Sections viewer

The "View" option in the Civil Module provides a visual interface for reviewing profiles and cross-sections before finalizing the drawing. This ensures accuracy in alignment, cut/fill calculations, and section representations.

1. Exploring the Section Viewer

Interactive Navigation – Move through sections using the arrow (=> and <=) buttons.
Cross-Section Comparison – Displays the loaded surface and reference surface at each station.
Adjustable Grid Intervals – Customize grid spacing for better visualization.
Alignment Contour Points – Highlights key contour points along the alignment.

Example Configuration:

  • Width: 100 meters (Offset = 50)

  • Spacing Between Sections: 150 meters (Interval = 150)

2. Area Section – Cut & Fill Visualization

Toggle Volume Calculations – Selecting a cut/fill volume calculation will highlight the area with the chosen color.
Polygon-Based Computation – The calculated report information is based on this polygonal representation.

3. Generating and Exporting Reports

"Report" Button – Opens a detailed section report containing:

  • Point Coordinates (X, Y, Z)

  • Altitude Values

  • Offset Distances Relative to Alignment

Save as Text Format – Export for documentation, review, and further processing.

4. Best Practices for Section Viewing and Reporting

Use the viewer to verify cross-sections before final drawing.
Adjust grid intervals for optimal visualization.
Compare the loaded and reference surfaces to track elevation changes.
Export reports for documentation and stakeholder review.
