The grid preferences are set in the layer's preferences. This way, each layer can have its own grid preferences. The first part for the interval is used to set the default values for when the interface is opened, while the fields for lines and texts are used to configure the elements drawn in the design platform. The buttons are used to edit the selected configuration. If you don't want to draw one of the elements, simply uncheck it.

Description

X, Y Interval

Default value of the intervals where you want to create a grid's lines.

Lines

List of line types available for tracing the grid's lines. Note that if you choose color "by scale", the software will create triangles whose colors depend on the elevation or slope, but it will not draw the elevation or any vertical lines.

Texts

List of types of text available for annotating the altitude at the intersections of the grid's lines.
