Breaklines Tab

The Breaklines Tab in VisionLidar’s Civil Module provides essential tools for managing, modifying, and validating breaklines within a surface. Breaklines define linear constraints that influence surface triangulation, ensuring accurate terrain representation by enforcing sharp elevation changes along edges such as roads, ridges, and curbs.
1. Understanding the Breaklines Tab
✔ Displays and Manages Breaklines in the Surface
The "Lines:" box shows the total number of breaklines in the surface.
Use arrow buttons to navigate between breaklines.
The table lists the vertices of the selected breakline.
✔ Provides Powerful Tools for Breakline Selection and Editing
Filter, add, delete, validate, and modify breaklines.
Detect and highlight intersections to prevent incorrect triangulation.
Draw, erase, and adjust breaklines dynamically.
2. Available Functions in the Breaklines Tab
Main Toolbar Buttons
Button | Description |
---|---|
Apply Filter | Filters breaklines based on selection in the main window, closed or intersecting lines, point-radius matching, minimum and maximum leaves, or elevation constraints. Filters cannot be combined. Apply filters using the gray button in the menu. |
Verify Intersections | Detects and highlights intersections between breaklines, preventing errors in surface triangulation. |
| Moves to the first breakline in the list. |
| Navigates to the breakline before the currently selected one. |
| Moves to the next breakline in the list. |
| Jumps to the final breakline in the list. |
| Creates a new blank breakline entry for manual definition. |
| Removes the currently selected breakline from the surface. |
| Permanently removes all breaklines from the surface. |
| Highlights intersections between breaklines, ensuring clean triangulation. |
| Selects an existing breakline from the point cloud and adds it to the list. |
| Displays all breaklines in the main window. |
| Hides all breaklines from the main window without deleting them. |
| Adjusts elevation values for selected breaklines. If elevations are unknown, the values will be interpolated during triangulation. |
